I'm so excited to share a bit of my story with you. As a wife, mother, and woman of faith, I've had my fair share of joys and challenges, but through it all, I've learned to cling to the unwavering love and guidance of our Heavenly Father.

I'm Dana!

From Sunny Barbados to the UK

Originally from the sunny island of Barbados, I now call the UK my home. My journey here began when I came to study, and it’s been an adventure ever since. I met my amazing husband, Chidi, in church, and he proposed to me on my favourite beach back in Barbados while we were visiting my parents. We got married in January 2013 back in Barbados. Since then, our lives have been filled with love, faith, and four lively kiddos—two boys and two girls.

The one who promised me an adventure and hasn't disappointed. Chidi is not only an incredible husband but also a devoted father. He’s the author of two delightful children's books, and his love and commitment to our family are truly a blessing. His unwavering support and strong faith have been our family’s cornerstone, especially during our most challenging times.

Our home is always bustling with energy, love, and faith. Each of our four kids brings their unique joy and vibrancy to our family. Life with them is an endless adventure of laughter, learning, and growth. They are a constant reminder of God's goodness and the blessings He bestows upon us.

Facing Unexpected Challenges with Faith

After the birth of our second son, I had to unexpectedly quit my job to become a full-time caregiver. He started having seizures at just 4 months old, and during my pregnancy with our third child, he was diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy called Dravet Syndrome, as well as autism and ADHD. This was a massive blow to our family, and I'll admit, I struggled. The fun-loving, outgoing Dana was now confined to our home, feeling stuck and paralysed by our situation. I even found myself questioning my faith, wondering how I could share the message of Christ's healing power when my own son wasn't experiencing it...yet!

Clinging to God's Promises

But that’s when I knew I had to take control of my life with God's help. I turned to His Word, and the verses that spoke to me the most were Jeremiah 29:11, which says, "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" And Philippians 4:13, which reminds us, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

With these promises in my heart, I began to see my situation in a new light. Yes, it was challenging, but God had a plan, and He would give me the strength to navigate it. My husband, Chidi, has been an incredible support, and together, we've learned to live and thrive as a family, even in the midst of our trials.

Today, I juggle many roles: wife, mother, author, homemaker, business owner, and above all, a Jesus lover. I've always been fascinated by the Proverbs 31 woman, and as I've grown in my faith, my admiration for her virtues has only deepened. It's my desire to emulate her strength, wisdom, and grace in my own life, even if I'm still a work in progress.
